MACHINE CALIBRATION SERVICES

If you have BS or ISO quality standard procedures in place or are working towards CE accreditation it is likely that your procedures will require annual calibration of your welding equipment!

What can be calibrated?

Any welding power source including Mig, Tig, MMA & Submerged Arc that is fitted with an AMP and Volt meter, provided that the meters function correctly and are undamaged.

Any welding power source that has controls marked with scales indicating Amps and/or Volts. This is called ‘Validation’ but still results in a valid certificate if successful.

However, we recommend fitting a new digital meter kit to such machines to provide a full calibration and so the welder can follow the meter readouts when performing specific weld procedures.

What if my machine fails the tests?

If the meters that are already fitted to your machine do not work, are damaged, are inaccurate or fail the calibration test we will replace the faulty meters & fit one of our new digital meter kits.

Once the digital meter kit has been fitted & calibrated to the machine, you will receive a calibration certificate valid for 12 months.

It is usually worth arranging for all your machines to be serviced and calibrated at the same time, saving you time and travel costs.

A machine can fail calibration if internal or external components are faulty, so it pays to have the machine checked over & serviced before carrying out calibrations.

It is also a good idea to have your machines serviced at least once a year anyway to avoid unnecessary build up of metallic dust particles within the machine which can cause faults.

What if my equipment has no meters and no scales marked?

Equipment with no meters/scales cannot be calibrated as it is however, we can fit a digital meter kit to almost any machine.

Our digital meter kits are installed by our engineer and calibrated to suit that specific machine on site if required, resulting in minimal downtime.

Once the digital meter kit has been fitted and calibrated, you will receive a calibration certificate valid for 12 months. The kit takes our engineer about 1 hour to fit and can be located anywhere suitable on the machine.
